The Los Angeles Chargers free agent safety Jaylinn Hawkins is heading to the New England Patriots on a one-year deal. NFL Insider Mike Garafolo was the one to break the news of the signing.

The Bolts claimed Hawkins off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons in October of last season. He appeared in 10 games for the Chargers, posting 11 tackles.

Hawkins was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Atlanta out of the University of California. He served well as a depth piece for this Chargers team and now will likely be given a bigger role with New England.

We wish Hawkins nothing but the best moving forward with the Patriots. Los Angeles will need to fill the gaps in their depth the rest of the offseason.
