Former Bills WR Mike Williams on Life Support
Former Buffalo Bills receiver and Syracuse Orange standout Mike Williams is currently on life support after suffering serious injuries in a tragic construction accident, per reports from the Tampa Bay Times.
Williams’ father, Wendell Muhammad, said on a GoFundMe page for Williams that a steel beam fell on his head which cause serious head injuries.
Jon Scott of Spectrum News 1 Buffalo had previously reported on Tuesday that Williams had reportedly "passed away following injuries suffered during an accident while working at a construction site.
Williams, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., was selected in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft after an impressive college career at Syracuse. In program history, Williams is ninth in career receptions (133), eighth in receiving yards (2,044) and tied for second in receiving touchdowns (20) with Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison.
As a rookie with the Bucs, Williams finished second behind St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting. He finished the 2010 season with 65 catches for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Despite signing him to a five-year, $39.62 million contract extension in July 2013, the Bucs traded Williams to the Bills that following offseason after playing in just six games that season and catching 22 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns.
As a result of the trade, Williams arrived back in his hometown of Buffalo and only a couple of hours away from his where he went to college. Williams ended up playing just one season for the Bills, who released him right before Week 17.
He appeared in nine games for the Bills, posting eight catches for 142 yards and one touchdown. His best game as a Bill came against the Houston Texans in Week 4 of that 2014 season, as Williams finished with two catches for 84 yards, most of which came on his 80-yard touchdown catch.
Williams finished his NFL career having appeared in 63 games (52 starts), while recording 223 grabs for 3,089 yards and 26 touchdowns.
