Tennessee Titans Sign Former Cowboys Quarterback Mason Rudolph
A former Cowboy will have a new home in 2024.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, former Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph is signing with the Tennessee Titans. Rudolph’s deal with the Titans is for one year and worth up to $3.62 million.
Rudolph's move comes after the Pittsburgh Steelers signed quarterback Russell Wilson. Rudolph’s time in Pittsburgh was speculated to end soon, and Wednesday’s news makes it official.
Rudolph had spent his entire NFL career with the Steelers after the team drafted him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Rudolph saw the field in four seasons while in Pittsburgh, starting 13 games and throwing for 3,085 yards.
That included three starts at the end of last season when he led the Steelers to three straight wins and secured a playoff appearance. In those games, Rudolph completed nearly 75% of his passes while throwing for 716 yards and three touchdowns.
He started the only playoff game of his career last season, throwing for 229 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers’ loss against the Buffalo Bills.
Rudolph played the most in the 2019 season. He played in 10 games and started eight. In Pittsburgh’s 8-8 season, Rudolph threw for 1,765 yards, 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
2019 was the first season Rudolph earned playing time after a historic career at OSU. After breaking onto the scene in 2014 with a Bedlam win, Rudolph led the Cowboys’ high-powered offense throughout the next three seasons.
He finished his career as a Cowboy as the program’s leading passer with 13,618 yards. Rudolph also set the career mark for most passing touchdowns, throwing 92 across 42 contests.
Although his NFL career has not been as successful as his time in Stillwater, a fresh start in Tennessee could revitalize it and allow him to extend his professional tenure.
