Atletico Madrid could be set to announce a new deal for goalkeeper Jan Oblak next week, as reports from Spain claim an agreement has been reached with the 26-year-old shot stopper.

Oblak has established himself as one of the world's best keepers in recent seasons, and as such has been linked with a catalogue of Europe's elite clubs, with PSG most recently emerging as a potential destination.

That should be put to bed at some stage in the next week, however, if Spanish outlet AS are to be believed, as they claim both parties have agreed on a deal that will see his salary rise to somewhere between €10m and €12m.

His current €100m release clause is also expected to rise sharply to between €150m and €200m, as he extends his deal well beyond its current 2021 expiry date.

Manager Diego Simeone is thought to have played a big part in getting the deal done, having made keeping hold of the Slovenian a central issue in his own contract negotiations, that saw him sign on until 2022 earlier this season.

Oblak, it's reported, is delighted with the negotiations, and has 'forgotten' about deals offered to him by other major European sides.

Elsewhere, AS also claim that Atletico are looking to strengthen their defensive resources, with Diego Godin expected to be off to Inter and Filipe Luis also potentially on the way out.

Sampdoria's Joachim Andersen is among the names linked, as Los Rojiblancos could look to inject some youth into an ageing defence in the summer.
