NFL Draft Targets: Bills Land 'Enticing' WR On Day 2?

The Buffalo Bills are revamping their receiver room this offseason. Will that continue early in the 2024 NFL Draft?

Few teams are as connected to drafting a receiver as the Buffalo Bills, but when will they pull the trigger on addressing that position?

Bleacher Report broke down the biggest needs for each team the positions in free agency and what they need to address on all three days of the 2024 NFL Draft. For the Bills, they had them taking a receiver on Day 2 of the draft and they had them addressing the need by taking South Carolina Gamecocks receiver Xavier Legette.

Xavier Legette.

Xavier Legette.

"Xavier Legette has a lot of flaws, but he also has a lot of things going for him that make him an enticing prospect," Bleacher Report writes. "At 6'1", 223 pounds, he has a pro-ready frame to go with good ball skills. He also is a powerful runner as his frame would suggest...He could be a deep ball specialist early in his tenure while he develops into something more."

Legette broke out in 2023 for the Gamecocks, catching 71 passes for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns, all of which were career highs. The 6-foot-1, 221 pound receiver also had a standout performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, running a 4.39 40-yard dash with a 1.54 10-yard split.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Stefon Diggs' future, Buffalo needs to find a receiver who can potentially become Josh Allen's No. 1 option. Whether it's in the first or second round, the Bills need to be aggressive in landing a weapon of that caliber.

While Legette needs some refinement, the potential is there for him to become that type of receiver. If Buffalo is willing to be patient and think his upside is worth it, then Legette is a more than viable option on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft.
