Jalen Ramsey Says He's 'Filled With Joy' After Being Traded to Rams

Jalen Ramsey overjoyed with trade to Rams

Jalen Ramsey is "overjoyed" to have been dealt to the Rams on Tuesday night.

Speaking on Uninterrupted's '17 Weeks' Podcast on Wednesday, Ramsey opened up about his move from Jacksonville to Los Angeles, added that the trade was a "big, big day for me."

"I'm currently just walking outside right now, I'm filled with joy, I'm overjoyed right now," Ramsey said. "God is the greatest, God makes no mistakes at all. No mistakes at all. I've been so blessed."

The Jaguars traded Ramsey to the Rams in exchange for a first-round pick in both 2020 and 2021 and a fourth-round pick in 2021.

The Jaguars traded Ramsey despite earlier reports that Shad Khan had no plans on moving their star cornerback.

Ramsey requested a trade following a Week 2 loss to the Texans after he felt disrespected by the Jaguars' organization, revealing in an episode of Uninterrupted's "17 Weeks" podcast that an upsetting conversation with team management was the final push for his decision.

"I was so blessed to be drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars," Ramsey said. "But now I've got a new chapter starting in my life, going out to L.A. and going to be a part of the L.A. Rams.

"Excited to be a part of that defense," Ramsey added. "Coach Wade Phillips, coach Sean McVay, coach Aubrey Pleasant, and I'm excited to get out there and do my thing for the L.A. Rams and show them that they've got the best corner in the whole NFL for years and years to come."

Ramsey, 24, still has two years left on his rookie contract. He is making $3.6 million this year and was set to make $13.7 million in 2020 after the Jaguars picked up his fifth-year option in the spring.

Los Angeles next places the Falcons on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
