This Is Not How Tic-Tac-Toe Works, Pacers Fans

It shouldn’t be that hard!

Tic-tac-toe is a simple game. Children play it. Anyone who can an X or an O and count to three can play it. But if you add basketball to the equation it suddently becomes impossibly difficult. Just ask these Rockets fans from 2015, or these Pacers fans at Wednesday’s game against the Bucks. Try not to pull your hair out watching.

It shouldn’t be that hard! The most egregious scenario is definitely this one:

It seems simple, right? The winner is going to be whoever makes their layup and runs back to midcourt first. But then purple goes for the block instead of going for the win, and red doesn’t bother blocking purple’s potential winning move. It didn’t matter, though, because purple passed up the chance to win again!

Neither player deserved to win, and I’m glad they didn’t. I just hope neither of them got whatever prize was supposed to go to the winner.
