Nate Diaz Announces He's Out of UFC 244 Headliner Due to 'False' Steroid Allegations

Nate Diaz announces he's out of UFC 244

Nate Diaz will not be fighting in next week's UFC 244 headliner against Jorge Masvidal after allegedly failing a drug test, the MMA star announced on Thursday.

In a rant posted to his Twitter account, Diaz said he tested positive for "elevated levels" for a substance which he believes to be from a tainted supplement.

"I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements," Diaz wrote. "I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don’t even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is F------ with me fixed it, I won’t be competing.

"I’m not gonna play their game and try to hide it or keep quiet, as they suggested. I’m not gonna have my name tainted as a cheater like these other motherf------ who keep quiet until after the fight just so they can get paid," he added. "F------ cheaters. I don’t give a f--- about some money over my dignity and my legacy. I’m not playing along with this bullsh--. I’m not staying quiet and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game I’ll see you when I see you."

Diaz previously passed all his tests surrounding UFC 241 in August, per ESPN's Ariel Helwani, which saw him beat Anthony Pettis by decision. The win was the 34-year-old's first match since splitting a pair of bouts against Conor McGregor in 2016.

After Diaz signed his rant as "the realest baddest mother f----- in the game," McGregor took to social media to claim that he was the "only one Bad Mother F----- in this game."

It is still unknown who UFC will replace Diaz with.

The main card of UFC 244 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. ET.
