Olympic Gymnast Simone Biles Throws First Pitch at Game 2 of World Series

Simone Biles throws first pitch at Astros' World Series game

Gymnastics legend Simone Biles threw the first pitch for Game 2 of the World Series between the Astros and Nationals in Houston on Wednesday.

A Houston native, Biles is no stranger to the mound. She previously threw out the first pitch for an Astros game in 2016. She follows former Astros catcher Brian McCann, who threw out the first pitch during Game 1.

Biles won four gold medals and one bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She won the most gold medals as a female gymnast at a single Olympics in American history and became the fifth-ever quadruple gold medalist in women's gymnastics at a single Olympics.

On Oct. 13, Biles also broke the all-time record for most medals by any gymnast at the world championships, earning her 25th medal by w inning the balance beam and floor competitions.

Of her 25 career world medals, 19 are gold.

The Nationals lead the series after defeating the Astros 5-4 in Game 1.
