USC Men's Tennis: 2023 Midseason Addition Leaving Trojans Early To Go Pro

He's betting on himself!

Your USC men's tennis team has made some excellent roster additions over the past couple of years as they grow as a program and a brand for some of their best players to showcase their talents to the world.

However, it appears that some of their stars have embarked on quicker journeys than others to the professional level. Learner Tien, standout freshman who joined the Trojans in the middle of the 2022-2023 season, was coming off of 2023 Australian Open Junior Championships victory and quickly became an important part of USC's squad.

And it was announced a couple of weeks ago via USC's tennis Twitter account that Tien would be making the jump to the professional level and even though he enjoyed his time with the university, he felt ready to move on to the next level.

"After much consideration with my family and coaches, I have decided to forgo my remaining eligibility at USC and pursue my professional career. After my time at USC, I now feel ready to take the next step and begin the next chapter of my career. I want to thank my coaches and the athletic administration for the endless support and for giving me the chance to be a small part of the forever growing legacy at USC. Having the opportunity to represent the school and wear the cardinal and gold is something I'll forever be proud of and grateful for."

It's amazing to see Tien pursuing his ultimate dream at such a young age and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward!
