USC Football: Elite 2025 Athlete Locks In Official Visit With Trojans
Dodge County (Eastman, GA) athlete Darrell Johnson is one of the most versatile recruits in the 2025 cycle. He played five different positions, so far, at the high school level. Coming in at about 6-foot-1 200 pounds, he's lined up at running back, outside and inside linebacker, safety, and cornerback throughout his high school career. It's been reported that Florida State is recruiting him as a safety. Some scouts also see potential for him at linebacker. Regardless of where he ends up, there are plenty of schools (Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn) that are extremely high on Johnson as a prospect.
Chad Simmons of On3 just reported that Johnson is scheduled to take an official visit to USC this summer from June 7th through the 9th. This news serves as a bit of evidence that the Trojan recruiting pitch is at the very least being heard by the recruits. More importantly, it shows us that one of the best recruits in the country recognizes the caliber of coaches tasked with leading the Trojan defensive revival.
Johnson told Simmons that “USC has been recruiting me since last year... I like how me and the coaches have a good vibe and the relationship I have with them.”.
247 Sports "crystal ball" predicted that Johnson will end up at Florida State, but he's still got nearly a year to go in his recruitment. USC is getting one of his five available official visits (Florida State also earned an OV), so in some ways, they've got as good of a chance as any other program of landing Johnson.
