USC Football: 4-Star Running Back Visits Trojans

The four-star recruit enjoyed his visit this past weekend.

After your USC Trojans made an offer to local three-star running back Karson Cox last week, Cox decided to take a trip down to the club's practice facility this past weekend.

Cox, hailing from Hesperia, California, is one of the top running backs in his class. The kid stands at six feet, weighs 205 pounds, and is the number 39 ranked player in California, according to 247Sports.

He plays running back and cornerback for Oak Hills High School. This past season, he rushed for 1,349 yards, averaged 10.5 yards per carry, and rushed in 19 touchdowns in 10 games. Cox also caught 12 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns.

Cox spoke on his recent campus visit and relationship with running backs coach Keil McDonald with Donovan James of Trojans Wire

“I had a great relationship with the running back coach (Kiel McDonald) before when he was at Utah. He was just very patient with the offer because USC doesn’t really offer California running backs like that because they recruit just nationally.”

Carson has over a dozen offers at the moment but admitted he would narrow down his decision possibly after the summertime.

“My decision timeline would be after the summer,” he said. “Maybe the second week of August around there. That’s when I will announce my commitment, around August.”

The Trojans have a chance to bring in a stellar running back who can transform the backfield. It will be a tough race to try and win over the SoCal native.
