With speculation that the Chicago Bears would take former USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago all but confirmed their decision. The Bears traded away their own starting quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, all but opening the door for Williams to be taken.

Fields was sent to the Steelers for a conditional sixth-round pick that could become a fourth-round selection, based on playing time. Chicago sold low on their starting quarterback after not being able to move him earlier in the offseason.

The Bears are most certainly keeping their first overall selection now, with the idea of drafting Williams in mind. He will head to Chicago after two stellar years with the Trojans, winning the Heisman in 2022.

Chicago will be getting one of the better prospects at the quarterback positon in years and Williams has the chance to turn their franchise around. The USC faithful will be watching closely, rooting on Williams throughout his NFL career.
