It's been very quiet on the recruiting trail lately, but that's starting to change with more elite prospects making their way out to Eugene to see Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

2025 La Verne (Calif.) Bonita linebacker Noah Mikhail made the short trip north for another Oregon visit and continues to be impressed by what the Ducks are building.

"I would say the biggest highlight obviously, getting to sit down with Coach Lanning, Coach Tosh and Coach B Mike all separately," he said. "The meeting which coach B Mike was good because it really showed me their plan for me and how I fit into their scheme and what they kind of do at the linebacker position schematically and how that relates to me."

Dan Lanning has solidified himself as one of the best head coaches in the sport and the California linebacker likes what he's seeing in Eugene.

"He's making that program great," Mikhail said of Lanning. "Defensive-minded head coach, one of the best to do it. So he's definitely doing something special there and creating a culture that not only is winning, but has a good bond together."

The Ducks held their second of fifteen spring practices during his visit, which gave him a close up look at how the coaches operate.

"Practice was great. Energy was high. It was good obviously seeing B Mike in action, coaching individuals and everything. But not only the coaching piece of it, the teaching of it. Teaching not only in practice, but in meetings."

After another strong visit, where do things stand with Oregon and the elite defender?

"They're definitely a top priority for me," Mikhail said.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound linebacker will continue a busy spring on the recruiting trail with a number of visits he's looking forward to.

"Right now I'm going to (Texas) A&M this upcoming weekend (March 22) and then Nebraska (April 1), Notre Dame (April 13). We might set up a few more and (U)SC the 13th (of April)."

Mikhail wants to get through his upcoming slate of unofficial visits before scheduling official visits, but it's safe to say the Ducks will likely receive one before he makes his decision.

When can fans expect a commitment?

"Some time in the summer," he said.

"Off the field I would sayI like doing things outside of football. Obviously I'm training a lot but outside of that I like golfing. I like hanging out with my friends. Just hanging out spending quality time with people and really just building relations relationships."
