Oklahoma State softball has started the 2024 season out strong, accumulating 15 wins over their first 17 games, including wins over fourth-ranked Washington and No. 15 Florida. They have played five ranked opponents that are currently ranked, and they have a record of 3-2 in those games.

Their efforts paid off, as they earned the No. 3 spot in the latest NFCA Coaches Poll.

They have been excellent offensively and defensively, but the pitching from the Cowgirls has been on another level, with a cumulative ERA of 1.78. Ivy Rosenberry and preseason All-American Lexi Kilfoyl are playing some incredible ball right now.

Rosenberry is credited with a record of 3-0 and has appeared in eight games to this point. She has only allowed one run in 25 innings pitched, giving her an ERA of 0.28. She has 28 strikeouts on the year. Kilfoyl has appeared in 11 games while starting in five of them. In 36.1 innings she has recorded 31 strikeouts and has an ERA of 0.98.

Offensively the team has been hot to start the year. Caroline Wang has been on a tear at the plate, maintaining a .392 batting average, along with hitting five home runs and 15 RBIs.

The only teams above them are conference foes Oklahoma and Texas, meaning that the Big 12 controls the top three spots. The only other Big 12 team that is ranked is Baylor, who sits at number 21.

With Oklahoma and Texas leaving for the SEC next season, Oklahoma State is in prime position to establish themselves as the as the best team in the conference year in and year out. They are already a perennial powerhouse, but with the road to the conference title getting a bit easier, they can really take the next step.
