OSU Softball: Cowgirls Get Shutout, Suffer First Conference Loss to Baylor

Baylor's RyLee Crandall threw a gem on Saturday, en route to taking game two of the series against Oklahoma State.

Baylor's RyLee Crandall tamed Oklahoma State on Saturday.

She threw the complete-game shutout, helping Baylor take the 2-0 victory at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Baylor improves to 14-4 on the season, while Oklahoma State falls to 19-3 on the season.

Crandall was a force all game as Oklahoma State struggled to get anything going off of her. She gave up zero runs on one hit and two strikeouts in seven innings of work.

While Crandall was dominant, OSU's Kyra Aycock and Ivy Rosenberry kept the Cowgirls in it.

Aycock got the start in the circle, and she delivered, giving up zero runs on one hit, three walks and one strikeout in 4 2/3 innings pitched.

Rosenberry came in and held the fort down in the fourth, but Baylor caused some trouble off her in the fifth, scoring its two runs that inning and prevailing over OSU.

OSU's offense struggled throughout the game as it didn't get its first hit until the fourth inning, and that hit was its lone hit of the contest.

After a scoreless first inning, Baylor got things going in the second inning off Oklahoma State miscues.

Aycock hit Ana Watson with a pitch, and Abi Flores drew a walk, setting up runners on first and second with zero outs for the Bears.

Aycock remained poised, retiring the next three batters and keeping the Cowgirls in it after the second inning.

Nothing happened in the next three innings, but Baylor put a crooked number on the scoreboard in the sixth.

Shaylon Govan drew the walk-off Rosenberry, and Watson got her over to third off a single, setting up Flores with a scoring opportunity.

Flores got Baylor on the board as she reached on a fielder's choice, allowing pinch runner Caroline Rowatt to score and put Baylor up 1-0.

Kaci West would get another run home after hitting a sacrifice fly into center field, scoring Watson from third and increasing the lead to 2-0.

OSU would get nothing going on offense the rest of the contest, and it would drop its first conference loss of the season to the Bears.

Oklahoma State returns to action to finish up its series with Baylor on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+.
