Can Oklahoma State rebound on Tuesday?

The Cowboys could not keep up their momentum after upsetting No. 2 Arkansas on Saturday, losing to Oregon State on Sunday 8-1.

The Pokes took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but unfortunately, that would wind up being their only points of the game. Oregon State would then go on to score eight runs in six innings, hitting three homers in the process. It was a rough performance offensively, with only four members of the lineup notching a base hit.

On top of that, the pitching was not all that great either. Oklahoma State allowed 12 hits and gave up two walks as a unit. Starting pitcher Janzen Keisel was credited with the loss after allowing five runs in 2.1 innings.

Keisel was then pulled in favor of Robert Cranz, who allowed two runs on three hits in 3.1 innings of work. Both pitchers struck out four batters each.

As I mentioned earlier, there was not much firepower offensively. Aidan Meola was the only Cowboy to notch multiple hits, and Tyler Wulfurt was the only one to get extra bases. Meola put up another solid performance, going 2-for-2 and notching the lone RBI for Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State played poorly on Sunday, there is no way around it. Still, they have shown that they can hang with the big boys at the top of the sport with the win over Arkansas the day prior.

Although this loss is disappointing, it doesn't spell disaster for the Pokes by any means. I expect OSU to rebound on Tuesday against Dallas Baptist.

Notable Players:

Aidan Meola: 2 H, 1 RBI

Tyler Wulfurt: 1 H(2B)

Evan O'Toole: 2.0 IP, 1 HA
