Oklahoma Moves into Top 20 of AP Poll Following Bedlam Beatdown

Coming off of a blowout victory over Oklahoma State, the Sooners climbed within the top 20 of this week's AP Top 25.

The Oklahoma Sooners came in at No. 20 in the most recent edition of the AP Top 25 after taking down Cincinnati and Oklahoma State last week.

Up three spots from No. 23 in the last two polls, the Sooners scored 95 points on the road to take down the Bearcats before topping 90 once again in a 35-point victory over the Cowgirls.

OU has now won 14 of its last 16 contests behind an emerging trio of Payton Verhulst, Skylar Vann and Sahara Williams. Against Cincinnati, the group combined for 56 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists with Vann's 22 points leading the way.

Against Oklahoma State, Verhulst, Vann and Williams combined for 51 points, 31 rebounds and nine assists while Williams led the team in scoring with 20 points.

Sitting at 14-2 in conference play, the Sooners will have a chance to take home their second consecutive Big 12 title with a win in one of their final two regular season contests.

On Wednesday, OU will face No. 3 Texas at the Lloyd Noble Center for a top 20 rematch of the Red River Rivalry. In late January, the two teams met in Austin with Oklahoma taking down the Longhorns 91-87.

The Sooners' final Big 12 regular season game will be on Saturday, March 2, in Lawrence, KS when Baranczyk's group takes on Kansas.

Aside from OU and Texas, Kansas State checked in at No. 15 in this week's AP Top 25 with Baylor coming in at No. 21 and West Virginia falling to No. 25.
