Georgia Recruiting Class of 2025 Overview: Offense

With the accelerated College Football Recruiting timeline, who are some names Bulldogs fans should know in 2025?

The Dawgs are in a new and unique position under Kirby Smart. With the recent retirement of Nick Saban, the Bulldogs are now the premier team in college football, and many prospects will take notice in the class of 2025. The Bulldogs will reload their offense, focusing on positions of need with wide receivers and offensive line.

Georgia already has the seventh-ranked class. With three offensive players already committed. However, every great offense has to have a star QB to help lead the way. The Bulldogs did sign one quarterback in the 2024 4-star Ryan Puglisi, but after the decommitment of Dylan Raolia, the Bulldogs will have to take a quarterback in the 2025 class.

The first name is one who recently sent shock waves through the class 2025 by reclassifying from 2026, Julian Lewis from Carrollton Georgia was the number one rated player in the class of 2026 his timeline has now moved up. He will be a major target for Georgia. Lewis is currently committed to USC and the Bulldogs will hope to use the recent struggles of the Trojans on the field, against them to try and flip Lewis.

Now a 2025 QB, Julian Lewis vaulted to the top of a lot of 2025 recruiting boards this week.

Another name Georgia fans should know at the quarterback position is 4-star Ryan Montgomery from Findlay, Ohio. Montgomery comes in at 6-3 215 and has a knack for hitting receivers in stride and throwing a smooth, deep ball. Montgomery's deep throws hang in the air, allowing his pass catchers to get in position; Montgomery will visit the Bulldogs on January 22nd.

Other names that could be possible takes are 4-star Atwann Hill from Houston County and Orange County, California product 4-star TJ Lateef. The Bulldogs recently have shown how much of a boon it is to have a dominant offensive line room. After arguably the best class in 2024, they will do it again in 2025.

Early targets include 5-star offensive tackle 6-5, 270; David Sanders jr from North Carolina, 6-4 305; 4-star center Cortez Smith from Parkview, Georgia, 6-7 330 4- star guard/tackle Juan Gaston from Westlake High School in Georgia, 6-5 305 4-star guard Mason Short from Evans Georgia who is a current Alabama commit, & Josh Petty from Buford or Jaelyne Mathews from New Jersey.

Overall, looking at the offensive line targets, this group differs from 2024 regarding the players' body types. Georgia is looking for a smaller, more athletic build in 2025.

David Sanders would be the crown jewel of this projected class. Sanders has an avatar body type at 6-5 270; he could project to OL and DL at the next level. If Sanders Jr. were to pick the Bulldogs, his comp is Broderick Jones. Georgia must put weight on his freakish frame if they can land him.

Juan Gaston is also a must-have from the state of Georgia. His size and ability to move have drawn comparisons to projected first-round draft pick Amarius Mims. He is the best tackle prospect from the state since Mims in the class of 2021. It is no secret that Kirby Smart has struggled to recruit elite wide receivers, which could change with two names. Travis Smith Jr. is from Westlake High School in Atlanta, and Thomas Blackshear is from Calvary Day in Savannah.

Smith Jr. is a perfect build for the X receiver in Georgia's system. His 6-4 200-pound frame makes him a walking mismatch. Blackshear comes in at 6-0 195; He recently named Georgia in his top three, Along with Florida State and Tennessee.

Right now, Blackshear is only ranked as a 3-star, but a look at his film shows why powerhouses are pursuing him. He can get yards after the catch jumps on the tape. Rarely does the first man ever bring him down.

The tight-end class is already done with two commits in 5-star Elyiss Willaims and 4-star Ethan Barbour. Elysis is the freaky move tight that Georgia seemingly continues to land at 6-7 235. He shows the ability to play the Brock Bowers role for Georgia. Georgia will have to fight off teams like Florida State to keep Williams.

Barbour Will bring the mean streak back to the tight end room that Georgia has been missing since Darnell Washington departed for the NFL. Barbour is a different size than Washington at 6-3 225, but his film shows how he can play that role.

Running back is an exciting position because the board has yet to take place after having Jabree Wallace-Coleman de-commit after Fran Brown took the Job at Syracuse.

Georgia has one commit in 3-star Bo Walker from Cedar Grove, Georgia. Georgia is heavily pursuing other names: 4-star Ousmane Kormah from Lee County and 4-star Alvin Anderson from Elba. Georgia has had a great start and will continue to reload their roster under Kirby Smart.
