New York Giants vs. New York Jets Betting Preview

A Big Apple “battle” is part of the early action on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. This NFC vs. AFC inter-conference clash goes at 1:00 p.m. ET. Although they share MetLife Stadium, schedule makers have the Jets at home versus the Giants.

Spread: Giants -2.5 (-110), Jets +2.5 (-110)

Moneyline: Giants (-140), Jets (+120)

Total: OVER 44.5 (-110), UNDER 44.5 (-110)

Giants’ Season to Date

After stumbling out of the gate, then benching QB Eli Manning in favor of rookie Daniel Jones, the Giants' (2-7) playoff hopes are over. New York has dropped five straight—including a 37-18 MNF Week 9 loss to Dallas. That game was closer than the final score indicates, as the Cowboys pulled away late.

Giants’ Betting Record: ATS 5-3-0 OVER/UNDER 2-6-0

Giants’ Leaders on Offense

QB Daniel Jones: 1,676 pass yards with 11 TD and 8 INT

RB Saquon Barkley: 629 total yards with 3 TD

WR Golden Tate: 322 receiving yards with 1 TD

*TE Evan Engram: 467 receiving yards with 3 TD

* Evan Engram will miss this contest due to a foot injury.

Jets’ Season to Date

Equally as bad as in-state rival NYG, the Jets (1-7) have been terrible since a 24-22 Week 6 upset over Dallas. Following a 26-18 loss to Miami, who were 0-7 and getting outscored by a 34-11 per-game margin, the Jets have hit rock bottom. Along with a ton of injuries, QB Sam Darnold has been a disaster.

Jets’ Betting Record: ATS 3-6-0 OVER/UNDER 5-4-0

Jets’ Leaders on Offense

QB Sam Darnold: 1,077 pass yards with 6 TD and 9 INT

RB Le’Veon Bell: 657 total yards with 2 TD

WR Jamison Crowder: 405 receiving yards with 1 TD

TE Ryan Griffin: 162 receiving yards with 3 TD

Giants vs. Jets Recent History – First Meeting Since 2015

There isn’t anything to gain from looking at the recent history between the Jets and Giants. Similar opponents this season illustrate that these squads are fairly even. Both teams lost to Patriots, the Jets beat the Cowboys while the Giants have lost two versus Dallas and both clubs were beaten by Buffalo.

Jets vs. Giants Final Thoughts and Pick

First-half play has been a problem for the Giants, as they have been outscored by a 159-101 count and have led just once at halftime, which came versus Washington. The Jets haven’t started their contests much better, as they have led twice after 30 minutes—Week 1 against Buffalo and Week 6 versus Dallas.

Injuries are a big concern for the Jets, who struggled to fill their active roster last week. While the backups may be hungry, they are bench players for a reason. A new injury this week: RB Le’Veon Bell (knee) is questionable. This feels like a game to avoid but, if you bet on it, consider Barkley and the Giants.

Pick: Giants -2.5

Season Record: 0-0
